The emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II says politicians that cause killings of innocent lives during political campaigns and rallies will go to Hellfire.
Mr Sanusi II made the pronouncement on Wednesday at the signing ceremony of Kano Election Peace Accord for gubernatorial candidates at Bayero University Kano.
He said Islam forbids bloodshed therefore politicians should desist from instigating any kind of violence to avoid the wrath of Allah.
He added that since most politicians in Kano are Muslims, they have to follow Islamic doctrines while engaging in politics.
The emir identified election rigging as the main cause of political violence in Kano.
He therefore urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to avoid declaring false results in order to avert violence and ensure peace.
