The Kano Vigilante Group has urged the state government to establish a security command centre at Kiru forest, Kiru local government area to curtail the activities of criminals in the area.
Muhammad Kabir Alhaji, commandant of the group made the appeal in an interview with Dala FM in Kano.
“Major forests across the country provide shelter to criminals making it difficult for security agencies to checkmate their activities,’’ he said.
According to him, building the security command centre will make Kiru and neighbouring local governments safer.
He also called on the government and philanthropists to support the group with vehicles and other security gadgets to effectively monitor the activities of criminals.
He added that the Kano Vigilante Group had achieved a lot of successes in tackling crimes across the 44 local government areas of the state.
