Man sentenced to 6 months imprisonment for abducting lover from Nassarawa State

A Kano Sharia Court, presided over by Mallam Nura Yusuf has sentenced one Salisu Musa, a resident of Hungu village in Albasu Local Government area of Kano State for abducting his lover from Nassarawa State to Kano.

KANOTODAY gathered that, the accused met his waterloo when residents of Kura Local Government, where he resided with his victim, tipped off Hisbah command in the area of his suspicious moves.

After few days of surveillance, the Hisbah operatives confirmed that the couple are not married and descended on the house where they were living for 10 days and arrested them.

The command swiftly charged the couple to court where the accused confessed to have abducted the lady without knowledge of her parents and even had sexual affairs for 10 days.

Speaking to journalists, the lady said Musa insisted she must follow him because he could not leave Nassarawa for Kano without her, in view of his mad love for her, thereby forcing her to follow him.

She added that, she had to succumb to his pleas and followed him to Kura town where they engaged in sexual acts for 10 days, despite the fact that she revealed to him that she is HIV positive, but said his blood was resistant to the virus.

On his part, the accused said he decided to elope with his lover in order to save her free from harassment by her parents, but does not know she is HIV positive until when she asked him to escort her to hospital to collect her routine retroviral drugs.

He added that he was indeed devastated by the situation and regretted his actions.

The area command of Hisbah also said planned have been perfected for repatriation of the lady back to her parents in Nassarawa State.
