The victorious Kano Pillars football club has on Monday evening officially received a warm welcome by Kano citizens after winning Aiteo Cup final last week in Kaduna.
KANO TODAY recalls that Kano Pillars beat Niger Tornadoes 4-3 on penalties to win this year’s Aiteo Cup.
The club however stayed in Kaduna to prepare for its CAF Champions League clash with Asante Kotoko scheduled for Saturday August 10 at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
The team started the victory parade from Zaria road to all the major streets of Kano at about 3pm.
The victory tour ended at the Kano State Government House where the team was received by the governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Mr Ganduje awarded both the players and the officials of the team the sum of $1,000 (about N363,000) each.
