Kano Hospitals Board directs staff to wear uniform on duty

Maude Rabiu Gwadabe The Kano State Hospitals Management Board has directed health workers to always appear in uniform during official working hours. Director General of the Board, Dr Nasiru Alhassan Kabo gave the directive while inspecting hospitals in Zone II of the state. KANO TODAY reports that hospitals under the zone include Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital, Imam Wali General Hospital, Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital and Sabo Bakin Zuwo Maternity Hospital. Others are Imam Halliru Memorial Hospital, Marmara Maternal and Child Health Hospital, as well as Goron Dutse Maternal and Child Health Hospital. Dr Kabo said in a statement released by Public Relations Officer of the Board, Ibrahim Abdullahi that it is part of the professional ethics of health workers to use uniforms while on duty. “It is the uniform that will identify you as a health worker whom patients can seek succor from,” he added. He therefore urged all Chief Medical Directors to ensure that their staffs always wear neat uniforms while at work.
