Kano Censorship Board bans films showing killing of spouses

The Kano State Censorship Board has banned Kannywood producers from making films showing the killing of spouses.

Executive Director of the Board, Isma’il Na’abba Afakallah announced this in a statement released on Wednesday in Kano.

The statement  signed by the Board’s spokesperson Ibrahim Adamu Kofar Na’isa accused Kannywood filmmakers of introducing a  new trend in the industry showing husbands killing their wives and vice versa.

Mr Afakallah reminded filmmakers that films are meant to showcase excellent moral, cultural, traditional and religious values of the society, according to the statement.

He added that the Board has completed arrangements to verify all stakeholders in the Kannywood industry.

    If that is the case then how do we tackle this. It is what is happening in the society and I believe banning it will only do more harm than good because we are trying to ignore it or what?
