The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a power outage at Kumbotso transmission station on Saturday August 31.
Assistant General Manager of TCN, Muhammad Bello stated this in a press release issued on Thursday in Kano.
KANO TODAY reports that the power outage will cause blackouts in Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi and Katsina states as well as parts of Niger Republic.
Mr Bello stated the power outage is to enable TCN to install a Shunt Reactor Circuit Breaker, which improves the energy efficiency of the transmission station.
He said the outage will start from 8:00 am to 5:00pm on Saturday.
At least 10 transmission stations will be affected by the power outage, he said.
These include Kumbotso, Danagundi, Dakata, and Tamburawa in Kano state.
Others include Hadejia and Dutse in Jigawa state as well as Azare in Bauchi state.
The rest are Katsina and Kankia in Katsina state as well as Gazaoua in Niger Republic.
