The Sarkin Fawar Kano, Alhaji Isyaku Ali, said they will not relent in their effort to sanitizing the state abattoir free from illegal practices, and ensure that people eat legitimate and hygienic meat.
Alhaji Ali stated this on Friday after his operatives nabbed three persons allegedly trying to sell meat of a dead cow, which is sacrilegious in the religion of Islam.
KANOTODAY gathered that, the suspects were apprehended on their way to the abattoir to trade off the meat.
One of the suspects, John James, said they were cleared at some police check points on their way to the abattoir, claiming that the meat was not meant for sell to public.
He also claimed that he found the meat useful for him and his family.
But, after thorough interrogation, James confessed to have connived with some operators in the abattoir to prepare the meat for onward sell to members of the public.
Sarkin Fawar Kano, therefore, said the suspects and their accomplices in the markets would be handed over to police for prosecution.
He also stressed that his office would not fold its arms to see some unscrupulous elements trying to tarnish the image of the state, as well as engaging in sharp practices capable of causing outbreak of diseases in the state.
He noted that, the suspects would face the full wrath of the law in order to serve as lesson to others, just as he said; his office would not condone any illicit act that could hamper his commitment to providing healthy society.
